“Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life- think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.”
- Swami Vivekanada.
Regardless of how old we are, where we live, or what our career goals are, ourultimate goals in life are to be happy and successful, to be successful means more than just having money and making our mark. It means following our passions, living purposefully, and enjoying the present moment.
Today when I look at our kids and the problems and the kind of aggression played out practically every day in the school, I only wonder if our kids have real goal to achieve in life.I believe it is the joint responsibility of the parents and the teachers to help the kids to have clear direction in life.
Therefore first and foremost we must help our kids to define what Success means to them. While it may take years to realize what one wants to do with life, identifying ones passions, interests and values which will help them to set the goals and give their life a sense of meaning.
Secondly we must help our kids to set a short term and long term goal to achieve. We must motivate them to think beyond financial and career goals to relationship goals and personal goals for bettering oneself. Lack of relationship goals and personal goals are perhaps leading the kids to follow the path of aggression and violence.
Help them to draw up a timeline for each that says when they have to achieve each part.Help them to stick to their commitments.Help them to gather knowledge and skills to achieve their maximum potential.Putting off important tasks until the last minute can cause them unnecessary stress, and increase the likelihood of errors and negligence. Hence help them to manage their time so that they have enough time to complete the tasks effectively.
Unfortunately, many of our kids measure their own success by comparing it to the success of those around them. If one wants to feel accomplished and happy, they will have to value their life for its own sake.No matter how much they achieve in life, they will always feel unhappy if they constantly focus on what they don't have.
Think beyond material items; appreciate the loved ones, and cherish happy memories. Don't let jealousy get on our way: nobody's success is a threat to us. Focus on what we want to do, and take steps to get where one wants to reach.
My best wishes to all the parents and well wishes for the continuous support and timely guidance. Let us work together to help our kids to set their goals in life and make their life a successful one.
May the Almighty bless us.
“Each person holds so much power within themselves that needs to be let out. Sometimes they just need a little nudge, a little direction, a little support, a little coaching, and the greatest things can happen.”
A heart filled with aspirations is all that we knew since the very existence of the school and that gave us the ambition of marching forward till excellence. As we gather to reflect upon the achievements, challenges and growth of our school , let us celebrate the collective efforts and dedication that has shaped another chapter in our educational journey.
